Use & Care Guide
USE
Before using, wash your new CORELLE dinnerware with soap and water to remove the clear protective coating.
Use CORELLE dinnerware for warming, baking and reheating food in microwave oven or preheated conventional and convection ovens. To warm empty dinnerware for serving, use preheated conventional or convection oven only.
CORELLE dinnerware can be washed in an automatic dishwasher. Load dishwasher carefully to avoid glass-to-glass contact and bumping against other items during cycle.
Oven must be preheated before inserting dish. DO NOT insert dish into oven for cooking or reheating until the oven has been preheated to the desired temperature.
Add liquid to the bottom of dish when cooking certain foods. When preparing foods that may release liquid, add a small amount of liquid sufficient to cover the bottom of the dish prior to cooking.
Plastic lids can be used in the microwave but should be removed before heating and placed on top while unlatched. Plastic lids are leak-proof but not intended to be used upside down or submerged under water.
CARE
CORELLE dinnerware is made of a special glass called Vitrelle™ and is break resistant. However, all glass is breakable, and care should be taken in handling.
A drop or knock against a hard subject may cause immediate breakage or enough damage so that the item breaks later for no apparent reason.
A severe impact can break CORELLE dinnerware immediately, resulting in many small pieces of glass.
Serrated knives can scratch the surface of any dinnerware. Note: scratching is not covered under the warranty.
To loosen cooked-on-food, allow CORELLE dinnerware to cool, and then soak in warm detergent water. Use only plastic or nylon cleaning pads.
Coffee or tea discolouration can be removed by cleaning with baking soda or mild cleanser.
Grey “metal marks” or rust marks can be caused by metal utensils, silverware, exposed metal on dish-washer racks, or stainless steel sinks. Clean gently with a non-abrasive cleanser recommended for rust removal.
Water with high iron content can stain dishes. To remove iron stains, use a mild cleanser.
Safety
- Do not heat on top of gas, electric and ceramic stovetops, on or near any other direct heating source such as range heat vents, pilot light, open flames, etc even for warming purposes.
- Do not use under broiler/griller, browning element of microwave oven or in a toaster oven.
- Do not heat an empty dish in a microwave oven. It may become too hot to handle, crack or break.
- Do not add liquid to a hot dish, place a hot dish on a wet or cold surface, or handle with a wet cloth. These sudden temperature changes may cause the item to break or shatter. Handle hot dish with a dry cloth or potholder.
- Do not place hot dish directly on a cool countertop or metal surface, or in the sink. Allow the hot dish to cool on a cooling rack, potholder, or dry cloth. Allow the hot dish to cool as provided above before washing, refrigerating or freezing.
- Do not handle hot dish without appropriate protection for your hands. Use with a potholder, dry cloth or thick towel.
- Do not use to microwave popcorn, hold or support popcorn bags, or microwave convenience foods with special browning wrappers, etc. Some convenience food packaging is designed to heat rapidly in a microwave oven and may cause breakage.
- Do not heat small amount of food in a large dish. It may become too hot to handle, crack or break. Always select dish size to fit food load.
- Do not overheat oil or butter in microwave oven. Use minimum amount of cooking time.
- Do not use harsh cleansers, scouring pads, or any object that will scratch items.
- Do not use or repair any item that is chipped, cracked, or noticeably scratched. Damaged items may break or shatter without warning.
- Do not use CORELLE 325ml, 450ml, 900ml Footed Bowl or 177ml Cup in convection oven or electric rice cooker. Use in microwave oven only. Material of the footed attachment is sensitive to heat.
- To prevent staining and blistering of plastic lids, avoid overheating of high-fat foods, sugar, oils and tomato sauces.
FAQ
What causes the grey lines or marks on my CORELLE?
Grey metal marks can be commonly found on all glass products. These marks is caused by friction between glass and metal such as using metal utensils, silverware, exposed metal on dishwasher racks or stainless steel sinks. Most glasses are transparent, and metal mark is not found easily. While CORELLE is a 3 layered compressed white or beige glass, these marks can be found easily.
Tips: To remove these marks, clean gently with a recommended non-abrasive cleanser such as CORNINGWARE Cleaner & Conditioner.
Why is my CORELLE backstamp not positioned in the middle?
Although all the products are being manufactured by cutting edge machines, the backstamp can be printed slightly off from the middle. As this is within the company QA (Quality Assurance) criterion and only items passed by the criterion can be sold, it is not covered under warranty.
Why are CORELLE cups, mugs and Chinese rice bowls made of a different material from CORELLE plates and bowls?
CORELLE glass compressing process which manufactured CORELLE bowls and plates is not applicable to make CORELLE cup, mug’s shapes with handles and foot of Chinese rice bowl. Hence, CORELLE cups, mugs and Chinese rice bowl are manufactured in Japan using an ultra hard porcelain material which is almost similar to CORELLE glass in strength and colour.
What is CORELLE made of?
CORELLE dinnerware is created through a very special glass lamination process which thermally bonds two clear “skin” layers of glass to a white or beige “core” layer. The result is lightweight, stackable dinnerware that resists breaking, cracking, and chipping.
Why are there rust or brownish marks on my CORELLE?
Each community has a slightly different composition to its water supply. These can be caused by iron deposits in your water supply with high iron content or even by exposed metal parts in your dishwasher or drying rack.
Tips: To remove iron stains, use a mild cleanser or a recommended non-abrasive cleanser such as CORNINGWARE Cleaner & Conditioner.
Why are there stains on my CORELLE cups or mugs?
The oils from coffee or tea will adhere to the sides of the cups or mugs because of the mineral deposits/residue in the water.
Tip: This coffee or tea discolouration can be removed by cleaning with baking soda or mild cleanser. Alternatively, fill cup or mug 1/4 full with vinegar, dip and clean with a paper towel. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
Why is the back of my CORELLE not smooth? (There are ‘pin-hole’ markings.)
This mark seen on the back is resulted from the manufacturing process. As this is within the company QA (Quality Assurance) criterion and passed by testing agency, it is not covered under warranty.
I just purchased my CORELLE. Why does the surface feel sticky or greasy?
CORELLE is coated with a clear & harmless coating spray at the last process to avoid any damage from glass-to-glass contact during shipping. Please wash the new CORELLE in warm water before using to remove the protective coating.
Why are my CORELLE plates warped?
The CORELLE dinnerware manufacturing process produces strong, lightweight dinnerware. However, there may be some visible variance on the rims of the items that is noticeable when the dishes are stacked. CORELLE may appear to be warped because they fit so snugly together; repositioning them in the cabinet may make it less noticeable. This variance is within the guidelines set by our QA (Quality Assurance) department and does not affect the performance of the product. There is nothing that can be done in normal household use to cause CORELLE to warp.
Can I use CORELLE in microwave oven?
Yes. As CORELLE is heat resistant as well as break resistant, it can be used in microwave oven. But do not heat CORELLE on top of gas, electric and ceramic stovetops, on or near any other direct heating source such as range heat vents, pilot light, open flames, etc even for warming purposes. Do not use CORELLE under broiler/griller, browning element of microwave oven or in a toaster oven.
Can I use CORELLE in refrigerator or freezer?
Yes. CORELLE can be used in refrigerator or freezer as well as in microwave oven. For use in freezer, please use with caution as liquid expansion may cause possible pressure for glass to break.
Does CORELLE have harmful substance?
No harmful substance can be found in the glass material. In particular, all products manufactured by Corelle Brands LLC pass the strict criterion which FDA in USA stipulates. Besides, CORELLE is non-porous; it does not stain or retain odours.

FAQ
SHOULD SNAPWARE® FOOD STORAGE CONTAINERS BE WASHED BEFORE USE?
Yes, we recommend washing all containers before storing food in them. Please follow the directions that came with your container or read the Use & Care Instructions.
ARE SNAPWARE® PRODUCTS BPA FREE?
Yes, every product that Snapware® currently sells is completely free of bisphenol-A (BPA). Snapware is committed to providing customers with safe, high quality and innovative storage containers, and removing BPA from all products is an important part of doing just that. Recently there has been much debate over the safety of BPA, which is a component of polycarbonate used in many plastics. BPA can potentially leach from containers when heated (via microwave or other methods), ultimately creating a safety risk when in contact with food. Due to these potential hazards, Snapware’s extensive product lines are manufactured entirely without the use of BPA. We back our BPA-free claim with continuous material testing conducted by an internationally recognized independent lab. For additional details on BPA, visit http://www.factsonplastic.com/.
HOW CAN I REMOVE THE PRODUCT BARCODE STICKER?
Our lids all use removable adhesives that should come off easily; however, sometimes heat and other factors make the stickers difficult to remove completely. In this case, before washing, use a hair dryer to heat the label. Then peel it off. You also can use any type of oil or any product specially designed to remove adhesive stickers.
WHAT TYPE OF PLASTIC ARE AIRTIGHT CONTAINERS MADE OF?
Both the lids and vessels are made of polypropylene (PP) and the seals are made of silicone. These plastics are 100% BPA free. Containers are food safe and FDA approved.
ARE MY AIRTIGHT CONTAINERS MICROWAVE SAFE?
Yes, all airtight containers are microwave safe. Please read the complete Use and Care instructions.
IS IT OK TO WASH MY AIRTIGHT CONTAINERS IN THE DISHWASHER?
Yes, all airtight containers are dishwasher safe. Please read the complete Use and Care instructions.
CAN I AIRTIGHT CONTAINERS GO IN THE FREEZER/FRIDGE?
Yes, all Snapware® containers are designed for use in the freezer and refrigerator. Please read the complete Use and Care instructions.
I USED MY CONTAINER IN THE MICROWAVE AND NOW THE LID HAS FORMED A VACUUM SEAL TO THE CONTAINER. HOW DO I REMOVE IT?
Any time a container is placed in a microwave, you must first loosen latches and remove the lid. Then cover the base with paper towel to prevent splatters. Do not return the lid to the container or latch the lid if the food is hot. If you do have a lid that is stuck, allow the contents of the container to cool to room temperature, then try to remove the lid. Do not use any tools or utensils to pry the lid loose. If you cannot remove the lid with your hands it is more likely that the lid is damaged and should be discarded.

FAQ
Why is there mark on my VISIONS cookware?
The mark sometimes seen on the base of the ware is from the manufacturing process. When the gob of hot glass is cut, the scissors leave a mark or a ‘line’ in the glass. As the glass cools rapidly, the mark hardens in the glass. This mark can be seen with the naked eye and sometimes felt with the finger. This is no way detracts from the performance of the ware, nor will it cause breakage.
Why is there bubbles on my VISIONS cookware?
